Stops in Interlaken(more rain) and Lucern (hitting every electronic store we could find to look for an adapter for my laptop--no luck!). At some point on the way to Lucern, we were driving up into the mountains again and the rain turned to heavy snow and on the way back down, back to rain. All within a 30 minute time frame, in May. The snow covering all the trees and falling fat and heavy on our windscreen, then winding our way around one gorgeous lake after another--water, water everywhere--I loved it!
I drive us into Geneva. Note to anyone going to Geneva in the future, do not drive into Geneva on a Friday evening at rush hour and expect to get around even half the lake in any reasonable amount of time. We were heading into France (Annemasse) where our hotel is for the night. Hotels are expensive and booked in Geneva.
It is slow going to say the least but if you are game (and Jeff and I always are), the views of the lake and all the old world buildings lining it make it perhaps the most visually pleasing traffic jam you could ever be a part of in a city. And no car horns, (except mine once when the woman ahead of us was too busy checking her texts to see the light had changed--Jeff told me NOT to do that--it is really impolite in Europe). Also don't be driving a stick shift--my legs were trembling with all the riding of the clutch and brakes.
